Before you fax

  • You can also send documents or report a change online at YourTexasBenefits.com, at a local HHSC eligibility office, or by calling 2-1-1.
  • The mailing address for the Document Processing Center is HHSC, P.O. Box 149024, Austin, TX 78714-9024.
  • Write your name and case number on every page so the pages can be matched to your case, and fax both sides of anything printed on two sides.
  • If your notice or form shows a different fax number or a deadline, follow the notice.

How to send it without a fax machine

  1. Gather the pages HHSC asked for and write your case number on each.
  2. Scan or photograph every page, both sides where needed.
  3. Enter 877-447-2839 and add the pages.
  4. Send, and keep the delivery receipt; it shows the date and time you faxed it.

Questions

What is the fax number for Your Texas Benefits?

Yes. HHSC lists YourTexasBenefits.com, mail, a local eligibility office and calling 2-1-1 as other ways to send information or report a change.

How do I prove I sent it on time?

Keep the delivery receipt. It shows the number you faxed, the date and time, and how many pages were delivered.

Does the number change?

It can. We compare it with HHSC's handbook regularly; the date we last checked is at the bottom of this page.
