How to fax from your email

Email apps like Gmail, Outlook and iCloud Mail can't send a fax by themselves: a fax has to be dialed to a fax machine over a phone line. If the document you need to fax is an email attachment, save it and send it from here.

  1. Open the email and download or save the attachment (PDF or photo).
  2. Enter the recipient's fax number here.
  3. Add the saved file. On a phone, tap Add PDF or photos and pick it from your Files or Downloads.
  4. Send, pay once for this fax, and keep the delivery result.

What about email-to-fax services?

Some services let you email a document to an address made from the fax number and fax it for you. They usually need an account, and often a monthly plan. For an occasional fax, sending the attachment from here needs neither.

Word documents and other attachments

Save a Word or Google Docs file as PDF first (File, then Download or Save as PDF). PDF, JPEG and PNG files can be added as they are.
