How to fax without a fax machine

The office that asked you to “just fax it over” still has a fax machine. You don't need one. An online fax service takes your document, dials their number over a real phone line, and their machine prints it like any other fax.

  1. Get the document into a file: a PDF you already have, or a photo of each paper page.
  2. Enter the recipient's fax number and add the file.
  3. Pay once for this fax. Your card is charged only for pages that arrive.
  4. Wait for the delivery result, usually a minute or so per page.

What the recipient sees

An ordinary fax. There is no PageFax logo or advertising on your pages. If you add a cover page it carries your name and note, not ours.

The other ways, and when they make sense

Print shops and shipping stores will send a fax for you, typically charging per page at the counter, which is fine if you're already there with paper in hand. A public library sometimes offers it too. If the document is already on your phone or computer, sending it from here saves the trip.
