# Send a one-time fax

Most online fax services are built for offices that fax every day, so they sell monthly plans and “free trials” that turn into charges. If you have one form to send, you need none of that.

1. Enter the fax number and add your pages.
2. See the exact price for this fax before you pay.
3. Pay once by card. There is no account, so there is nothing to cancel afterwards.
4. Get the delivery result and a receipt.

## What if it doesn't go through?

Busy lines and machines that don't pick up are common. PageFax tries up to three times. If no page is delivered, the hold on your card is released and you pay nothing. If only some pages arrive, you pay the price for those pages only.

## Are free fax sites an option?

Some sites send a short fax free of charge in exchange for putting their advertising on your cover page and limiting how many pages and faxes you can send per day. That can be fine for something casual. For a medical, legal or financial form, a clean fax with a delivery receipt is usually worth a couple of dollars.
